I scream, You scream...It's time for ice cream!!!

The weather's been nice enough (sometimes) to venture out to partake in our favorite summer past time...
eating ice cream!!!

We went up to Sullivan Farms and got some yummy treats!

Of course, we need sunglasses for the trip!

Somebody asked me why the little boys use their own bowls and spoons.  It's because we get them one ice cream and they split it.  It saves money and they would never finish a whole one by themselves.  This is how MoM's think, people!!!

Boston Take 2

Because I'm a nut and we just HAD to ride the Swan Boats, we headed down to Boston again!  We had called this time to ensure they would be open.

Again, we got there super early so we would be the first ones on the boat.
We climed a fun tree!

We got in line!

and waited...

...and waited...

and we were the first ones on!!!

Beautiful day!

We even saw turtles!

We got crazy balloon hats!

We traveled to Cambridge to lay flowers at MIT where
Officier Collier lost his life.

Love this city!

Boston Take 1

Every year we head down to Boston over April Vacation to go to the common and ride the Swan Boats and ducklings.  Because of the lockdown, we couldn't go when we had originally planned so we waited for the weekend.
We zoomed down and got there in time to be the first ones on the Swan Boats.  We had so much time to waste that we went straight for the ducklings before they got swarmed by millions of kids.
The ducklings were wearing Marathon numbers.

Here ducky, ducky, ducky!

We put white balloons at the site of the bombing.

We went for a ride on the carosel.

Our newest SWAT team members.

It turns out, the Swan Boats weren't open.  The city was still a bit on edge and they must have kept them closed as a precaution.  There was a lot of police & military presence on the common.  They were all very excited by the capture the night before.

We went to lunch at PF Changs and ended the day at Mike's Pastry!

Penguin Park

Dave took the day off to spend some time with the crew over April vacation.  We had originally planned to go to Boston, but it was shut down for the day so we had to change plans.

We had heard about a park that we decided to try out.  The equipment wasn't fantastic, but it had a ton of toys!

Franklin Park Zoo

Whether I'm brave or crazy is still up for discussion, but I decided to take all 4 boys to a new zoo, all by myself.  The ride took me through a huge tunnel and I almost passed out, but we made it.  We bought our tickets and began to explore.  We didn't use a map, we just "winged" it.

We saw some zebras!

and a lion (taking a nap)

got to play in an old truck

climb on a gorilla

see a baby gorilla

check out some flamingos

and spy on some emus

We had a great day!
We all made it home in one piece and took a lovely 3 hour nap!
The hardest part was navigating the bathroom!
We even saw the presidential motorcade on our way home.
