Last day of First Grade

Eli's first day of 1st grade, it was raining.  So much so that they had to cancel their usual first day festivities.  Well, it's only fitting that his last day of first grade, it was pouring as well. 

We got notified earlier in the week that Eli would be receiving a scholarship at the mass on the last day of school.  We had to keep it a secret from him though. 

I dropped him off at school as usual and then went home to get Dave.  We went over to the church for mass.

He was surprised to see us when we went up for Communion, but still had no idea why we were there.

He received the Student Council Scholarship for his grade level.  We were so proud!!!

 

After school we took him out to Friendly's for a special treat to commemorate his last day!

I can't believe he's officially a 2nd grader!!!
